The Problem

While we all know the importance of sleep, few of us actually get enough rest every night. Numerous factors such as demanding responsibilities, overstimulating environments, and personal health issues on top of the current state of the world lead to many struggling with falling (and staying) asleep.

The Solution

A smart alarm clock with features that helps folks fall asleep, wake up and prevent phone use (or doomscrolling) at bedtime. The clock would be fully functional on its own - while it can connect to Wi-fi to access extra content, no internet connection nor app is required to navigate the clock.

User Research + Interviews

To gather information about our users, we conducted a survey as well as scheduled interviews. Our survey consisted of 20 questions and was shared among the class and via social media. For our interviews, each group member invited 1-2 people to do live interviews over zoom about their experiences using Blackboard.

Persona

Meet Franklin, a Biology major at Lesley! Like many college students, he often struggles navigating through his courses on Blackboard. Each of Franklin’s professors has set up their course page differently, which often leads to him spending extra time trying to find specific pages.
